Welcome to Valencia
Before moving for the first time to Valencia, Spain, you should know that this city is located on the eastern coast of Spain on the Mediterranean coast. However, it is the third-largest city in Spain with a population of approximately 790,000 people. It has two airports, Valencia and Alicante Airport.
Valencia is well known by having an excellent Mediterranean climate, with warm and sunny summers and mild winters, with an average temperature over 23 degrees. All year around you will enjoy pleasant temperature.
Climate and gastronomy
The city has a diverse gastronomy. Famous for its oranges, mandarins, and rice. Valencia City produces its own rice. Also, it has three denominations where wines have its origin in Utiel, Requena and Alicante.
“Horchata” it is a soft drink from Valencia has made of the milk of a plant called Chufas (like rice) and the famous candy “Turron” also originates from Valencia (made with almonds) and traditionally eaten during Christmas.

The coast of Valencia has beautiful blue beaches, nice resorts, towns full of history and a great variety of culture, architecture, a wide variety of museums, monuments, and churches such as the Cathedral, “The Basilica de la Virgen”, “Torres de Quart” or “Torres de Serrano”.
The Barrio del Carmen holds the delights of the old city. The Cathedral, La Lonja de la Seda (Silk Exchange).
Other places of interests to visit are “The Bioparc Zoo” or “Jardines del Rio Turia”, a perfect place to explore on foot or bicycle full of cafes, children’s play areas, sports grounds, fountains, lakes, and bridges.
Architecture and festivals
For the ones who love architecture. La Ciudad de las Artes y las Ciencias (The City of Arts and Sciences), an architecturally stunning collection of buildings that house the city’s opera house and science museum it is a perfect place to visit. The “Paseo Maritimo” is also a fantastic place for a Sunday morning stroll for people who love the beach.
Valencia has a lot of festivals. But the most important it is a carnival of bonfires, fireworks and a healthy dose of satire called “Las Fallas” the fires. This international festivity lasts from the 15th until the 19th of March.
